I think some of my greatest memories of the last ten years surround my birthday. I had gone to Joe’s in late 1980 on my birthday. I loved the Stone Crabs and was so enchanted with the waiters and the bustling when they were serving Stone Crabs on those trays and big tables. I made a deal with my husband: since my birthday was in November, it would be a regular event to drive me from Orlando or fly me down to Miami to go to Joe’s for my birthday. He promised to do so every year and for over ten years I have had my birthday dinner there come what may. I even took a few friends with us to the celebration and they fell in love with Joe’s. Then, in my Chicago Home, I was thrilled to find Joe’s had a Seafood house there where I could get my stone crabs. Then in Vegas, which I went to four times a year for meetings, I had Stone Crabs as well. I had always thought they were connected but I might be wrong. However, I still go to Joe’s in Miami and I will always remember my group betting me I couldn’t eat four jumbo ones on my 40th. Guess what, I ate five jumbos that day. Don’t ever bet a woman who loves stone crabs that she can’t eat those jumbos. Great restaurant, great waiters, and great memories. I have even ordered them.

Christmas Eve dinner at our house! Nobody ever comes to dinner for the company ham I fix! They do not come for the funeral potatoes. Not even the presents! We’re from Utah. We have a lot of siblings and they all come for the Crab! Thanks Joe’s for doing such a great job making our Christmas special.

My family and I have been coming to Joe’s Stone Crab at least once or twice a season for the last 50 years or so. I was introduced to Joe’s by my mom-mom and Zadie–very hard working scrap metal processors formerly from Russia and Poland, then Hazleton PA. They resided at 7345 South Ocean Drive Miami Beach, Florida. If you can afford to pay income taxes to this great country you can most definitely afford to go to Joe’s for an outstanding stone crab dinner and of course lobster cocktail and key lime pie for dessert. My family loves coming to your restaurant.
Sincerely,
Leonard and Ann Louise Brenner

Once a year, my father and I would visit my grandmother in Miami. My cousins from Italy would meet us there. It was a ritual to go to Joe’s. Back then it was very formal–no shorts, no sandals. My cousin showed up wearing flip flops. The host wasn’t having it. Eventually a bus boy had to sneak him through the back door for us to sit at a back table. We always loved the lemon soup! 😉

Last year my wife and I had an idea. Let’s spend a day in Miami as if we were tourists traveling with two of our closest couple friends (some of us have lived in Miami as far back as 1961). I came across an ad in a tourist magazine in Miami, for sailing during a Sunset at Biscayne Bay. I added the idea of carrying with us a picnic basket with enough Joe’s Stone Crabs for all of us, including the boat captain, with coleslaw, white wine, a Cuban dessert, champagne and Cuban coffee in a thermos bottle. It turned out to be one of the best tours we had ever undertaken from around the world, and it happened here in our own backyard! Sometimes the good old times are looking at you right in your face, right at home! We are all in our 70’s, but that cruise with Joe’s will always be unforgettable!

Four decades of memorable dining at Joe’s!
Enjoyed a Super Bowl party!
Friend Tini (see picture) from Europe enjoyed the experience so much that she plans to fly back next year for Stone Crabs.

I met my (late) wife in 2001 at a time when my job took me to Miami at least once a month. On occasion Robyn would accompany me when she had a long weekend, which wasn’t often as she was an amazing and busy pediatric allergist. Whether with me or not, a stop at Joe’s, or Joe’s Takeaway, was always in order.
Robyn’s birthday was February 8 and it was easy knowing how to celebrate: ordering a dinner of claws, slaw, spinach and key lime pie for overnight delivery to our home in Atlanta.
In April 2016, after a short illness, my sweet wife passed away. But her memory remains a blessing to me as does all of the photos and videos of her bringing the mallet down and making a huge mess–and loving every moment!

Well about 40 years ago, our family went to our favorite restaurant for a yummy dinner.
Just as we were served, the power went out! Well, we were Floridians so we were used to these shortages. The waiters didn’t miss a beat. We had candles on the table (unfortunately all the people waiting had to be turned away). We had so much fun; the place was packed (as usual). No complaining, only laughter and and a little bubbly.
None of us have ever forgotten that wonderful evening! Thank you Joes!
We love you!

I remember my first experience coming to Joe’s with my private patient. I love every bit of it. I would look forward to going with her. The food, the restaurant, the atmosphere was just right I love it. My patient died and I don’t do that work anymore, but I still come and pick up a few things sometimes when I can afford it. I love the food 😮 and the Stone 🦀
Thank you,
Jackie
