October 20, 2008 – I said YES! and Louis “put a homemade ring on it” at Joe’s.

Louis made me a ring with ground wire and a Pandora “I LOVE YOU ❤️” charm because the engagement ring didn’t make it there in time. Steve took pity on Louis and put it on a fabulous platter of desserts! Two months and one week later (12.27.2008) we said “I do.”

My Grandparents moved to Aventura, Florida to retire in the late 1960’s and soon found what would be their go-to restaurant for the rest of their lives. Here is a picture of Grandma and me on what was her last visit to Joe’s. She was 96 years young and still insisted on cracking her own crabs.

We still on my Birthday every year to eat at Joe’s, not to mention the many times me and my girls grab and go.

Thanks for the continued memories and of course the old ones.

Good memory here to place in our wedding book. We got married October 21, 2019 and spent our honeymoon in Miami! We came here by word of mouth from my brother Jim Valdivia.

Had a date down in the Keys and I had to stop in Miami and take her to Joe’s—her first time!  Even got extra claws to go…

Girls Night Out May 2019: It was the last night of the season. We had to come and  say, see you in October!

My girlfriend Tangela and I love going to Joe’s in December to celebrate our birthdays.  We order everything! This was taken in 2001.

Joe’s is my Mom’s favorite restaurant and we go often. Imagine what happens when her bff Josie finds out that we’ve been (again) without her. So I planned a visit to Joe’s with my Mom & her friend Josie.  My sister found out and wanted to go. So did Josie’s daughter in law and her sister. We had the best time. Sisters!

The first time I remember going to Joe’s was before the Miami Boat Show when it moved over to the Miami Beach Convention Center from the Dinner Key Auditorium. We were in a 1967 Mustang coupe (Brittany Blue with the 289 small block). The entrance was on Biscayne Street. So happy to be able to be a part of the Joe’s Stone Crab story.

It’s Art Basel on Miami Beach – this was in the early 2000’s- and prime time on a weekday night. As I scan the dining room, I catch the attention of William Talbert (Chairman of the (GMCVB). From across the room he motions for me to come over and meet his table of guests. I guess he wants to impress them. Bill sees me approach and stands up. As the word “Steve” leaves his lips with all eyes on him, someone causes me to stop in my tracks, derailing my trip to Mr. Talbert. I just stare at her. I turn to Bill and mouth “YOKO ONO.” He had a look on his face like, “what am I, chopped liver?” Yeah, Yoko Ono takes Bill Talbert. I walk over to her table and introduce myself and literally get on one knee next to her and thank her for thinking of Joe’s.

I knew Bill would get over my detour…”
